A Shoveling Serenade

Yesterday while clearing snow from the walk for the umpteenth time this winter (I think I got that phrase from my dad), I became aware that I was surrounded by quite a cheerful sound.  Although we are still encased in a blanket of white and temperatures are well below freezing, the local bird population must be sensing that this really can’t last forever and they were singing their little hearts out. Or were they simply telling me their feeders needed refilling?  Whatever the reason, it certainly made the rest of the chore much more pleasant.  To show my gratitude I did get the bucket of seed before going back inside and made sure all those small souls had enough to help them stay warm.  Things are always a little better when we work together.
